Welcome to The Creative Core, a new group mentoring program for photographers.
This 3-month program aims to offer the support, feedback and advice required to take your next step as a photographer.
We’ll work together to find direction for your photography, to get your portfolio looking cohesive and ready for your ideal clients, plus, I’ll offer feedback and be there to answer your questions as you prepare to launch (or re-launch) your beautiful work and photographic services into the world.
The next program will next begin June 10th, 2024.

This mentoring program is for anyone who needs a little assistance in finding direction as a photographer or may want some guidance while taking those first steps in the industry as you pitch ideas, projects or your photos to publications and clients. To be eligible to join the program, you must have participated in an online course with Travel Photography Courses by The Wandering Lens, the reason being, that I’d like to work with people who have already accessed my resources and feel that I’m the right person to help in their next steps - I want you to feel comfortable sharing your work and questions with me so I can do my best to help you work towards your goals.

The Creative Core Group Mentoring Program
Let's work together to take action and seek creative opportunities for your photography!
Program length - 3 Months, starting again June 10th, 2024. We'll take it month by month, building the foundations of your portfolio and potential photography services, finding opportunities for your work, and crafting pitches to begin your journey towards working with clients.
Group Size - A maximum of 12 places are available for this program. I am hoping to run another group mentoring program at the end of the year, but can't guarantee this due to my own photography commitments and changing schedule.
How does it differ from the courses? It's not designed for everyone, it's suited to you if you're keen to take the next step with your photography, to put what you've already learnt into action. The group mentoring program is a small-group personalised program that will ensure you're receiving direct feedback based on set assignments, and that you're connecting with like-minded photographers at a similar stage.
What if I'm not available for the full 3 months? Similar to my online courses, content shared within the group mentoring program will be available online and can be downloaded. If you're not able to complete an assignment on time, I'm also happy to offer feedback at any stage over the coming six months, I know as creatives sometimes we need a little more time to get comfortable with our work and feel ready to share. Each month, there will be a live Q&A video chat, but I'm hoping to record this so you won't miss out if you're unable to attend.
How much time commitment is required? The program isn't designed to take up all of your time as I'm aware people have full-time careers or commitments. It's aimed at those who already dedicate a few hours per week to photography, whether it be curating their portfolio, building (even slowly) their website, or researching potential clients and opportunities. The content and assignments will support work you've already done via the other courses, or will work with images you've previously taken, there's no need to be out taking new photos every week, we're aiming to work with what you've already got (you're of course welcome to take more if you can!), and to define your next steps.
What if I never finished the course? That's fine, I know I write a lot so I wouldn't blame you if you haven't read every workbook! As long as you're keen to pursue a career path in photography, this mentoring program will be for you. The reason I have made this program only available to past/present students, is to ensure it's a like-minded group of people who have somehow (I'm so happy you did!) stumbled upon the world of The Wandering Lens and decided to trust me with playing a small, or larger part in your photography journey.
What will the end result be? This part, is up to you, however ideally, the program will provide the feedback, support, and confidence you need to approach clients and find work as a photographer. By the end of the program, I'll have shared insights and advice on the direction you're hoping to take, and you will have a structured plan to seek opportunities for your photography. Hopefully though, by the end of month two you'll have created a pitch, approached a client, and may already have an opportunity lined up!
Your investment: The group mentoring program is $280 AUD per month (approx $183US), a total of $840 AUD (approx $548US). Payment can be made in full upon registration, or via 3 x monthly installments.
